Stone

Natural stone adds a richness and sense of prestige to your home.  It has a natural character and warmth that cannot be beat.  It may cost a bit more to install and maintain, but it also increases the value of your home.

There are a variety of natural stone options:

Granite

Granite is the hardest and densest of all natural stone.  It makes a powerful impact in kitchens, entryways, and bathrooms, or as an accent with other natural stone tiles.

Marble

Marble comes in a variety of colors and usually displays a veining pattern that adds to its uniqueness.  Marble is more porous than granite, so it is more suitable for bathrooms, fireplaces, foyers, libraries, and studies.

Travertine

Travertine is unique due to its fill process.  In its original form, travertine has thousands of holes running through it.  These holes are filled in and then the stone is polished.  The stone polishes to a high sheen, and the fill areas remain dull resulting in a unique and beautiful floor.

Slate

Slate comes in a variety of unique and earthy tones, and it has some of the most dramatic color variations from tile to tile.  Colors range from rich reds, oranges, and golds, to lavender, green, blue, back, rust and brown.  It is extremely durable and can be used both indoor and outdoor. All slate has a natural layering along the surface that gives the stone its unique textural look.

Limestone

Limestone has a subtle matte finish and is created by the accumulations of organic materials such as shells and coral.  It is a very porous stone and will require some maintenance over time.

Tumbled Stone

Pieces of marble, travertine and limestone are tumbled and distressed to create tumbled stone.  It is often used in borders or decorative accents.  Tumbled stone gives a look that is both rustic and elegant.
